Subject: Gary Fickes

For decades Gary Fickes has demonstrated dedication to this region whether as Mayor of Southlake, or more recently as County Commissioner. Just as important is that he continues to serve when he isn’t holding office. He is a visionary and proven leader as evidenced by his ideas that have come to fruition. Asked for three words to describe Gary, I thought - dedicated, altruistic, and hard-working. He gives his all to make this a better place for us, and our families. He’s motivated by a true desire to serve. Whether it's untangling our traffic or anonymously giving for people in need - they don't come any better than Gary Fickes. We need to keep him as our county commissioner.

Gary Fickes has long been one of the guiding lights in Northeast Tarrant County. The economic miracle that is Southlake owes much of its success to his time as mayor when so much was done that under lays today’s Southlake. He (and then Colleyville Mayor Ed Baker) are responsible for the improved State highway 114 that goes out to the race track. Without their work on this road it would still be a country road.

Gary has always been one of our strongest leaders in the area. We are very lucky to have him on the Commissionaire’s Court, and we urge you to return him there in the upcoming election.

Vicki Truitt is very deserving of re-election to the position of State Representative of District 98, which she has held for the last 10 years. In the last legislative session, Vicki passed more bills than any other House member -- close to three times the House average. Through her hard work and diligence, she has established herself as a very responsible leader and gained much respect from her fellow legislators. Vicki is also very responsive to the needs of individuals. As a personal reference, she helped to resolve a conflict with the gas company and get the gas turned back on at my mother's house just prior to the temperature plummeting to below freezing. Since my mother is bedridden and relies on gas heaters for warmth, an immediate resolution to the problem was needed and only made possible with Vicki's help.
