Texas Fright Fest Weekend Continues to Grow Each Year

What do you get when you combine a local entrepreneur, Loyd Cryer and walking Zombies?  Why the Texas Frightmare Weekend of course.  This year located at the Hilton DFW Lakes.
While there are literally dozens of "stars" from various frightening horror films, perhaps the best known hostess recognized by the non-zombie general public is Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.

Seen on the left is LNO reporter Raven Thibodeaux, and Elvira.  Raven is currently completing her Master's in Cinematography.

Cryer's first event was the 2006 Fright Weekend  held at the Grapevine Convention Center in 2006.

Some of the visitors came riding to the weekend Frightfest in their favorite mode of transportation.
Zombies and others wishing to attend the horror movie convention have through Sunday to visit the Hilton DFW Lakes, on Texas 26 north of Bass Pro Drive in Grapevine.

Celebrities scheduled to attend include George Romero, creator of the 1968 film Night of the Living Dead; and Malcolm McDowell from the 1971 classic A Clockwork Orange.

Cost: $25 for a day pass; children 6 and younger get in free but will be restricted from some screenings.

There are numerous vendors and actors to visit when attending the event, including chat sessions with actors, writers, directors, camera experts, special effect artists, and more.

The honored guest is George Romero, now celebrating the 40th anniversary of his Zombie icon, "Night of the Living Dead".
