Colleyville Historian to Donate
Railroad Cart to Bransford Park
Now comes the difficult part,
navigating the city's donation procedures.
LNO has learned that Frances and Bobby Fitzgerald
have offered to donate a railroad mail cart to the City of
Colleyville to be displayed at Bransford Park, the home of the
Webb House and railroad caboose.
Railroad Cart offered to
city by the Fitzgerald family.
For the city to officially accept
any donation, the benefactor is faced with the cumbersome,
unwieldy and bureaucratic burden of attempting to navigate
Colleyville's donation acceptance procedure.
In the case of the cart the donor's form will be presented to the Bransford Park committee on Tuesday, March 23, at 5:30 p.m. at the Park Annex. They will discuss the donation and make their recommendation.
Next the form will go to the Park Board for their recommendation. The tentative date for this meeting is April 5th at 6:30 p.m.
Finally it gets to the City Council on April 20th at 7:30 p.m.
The difficulty of
"donating" any item to the City of Colleyville may
also have resulted in the loss of the what is potentially the
city's oldest structure. The log barn sitting on the Lydia
Alholm estate. Click
